Scholarship Information
Seniors! Make sure you check Ms. Batchelder's 12th Grade Google Classroom for all the latest scholarship information.
Scholarships are one important way to help finance a college education. The quest for scholarships can begin at any age, even before high school by participating in contests and competitions that award bonds or cash awards to be used for post-secondary education. Students should always be on the alert for announcements for contests or competitions, even national and statewide challenges for which they have a talent or interest.
Primarily though, the information on this website is intended for seniors who are applying to two or four year colleges, universities, conservatories, art or technical schools. Information on national, regional, and local scholarship opportunities is provided along with approximate due dates when available. Always thoroughly check the websites and applications for filing dates and documents to be included. Always give any person writing a letter of recommendation or providing documentation at least two weeks notice, preferably more.
All students seeking scholarships should first register with a reputable scholarship search service. These free services create a profile for you and then match available scholarships to your background and interests. They are powerful search engines that are very helpful. Beware of scholarship search services that charge a fee and guarantee a minimum award. Not all are scams but the free services do much of the same work without the fee. Several of these free scholarship services are listed below.
