We are an organization consisting of parents, grandparents, guardians, friends and anyone who wants to support the music program here at MCAA and MHS.
We supplement those unfunded or under-funded areas within the whole music department. Our main function is to fundraise and provide ways and means for students and their families to fundraise to help attain their Fair Share of music expenses.
Those areas include: Attire, Music Festival Fees, instrument maintenance, repair and or purchase, musical scores and octavo music, field trips and transportation costs, additional professional instruction and other music class needs.
This year our fundraisers include Yankee candle, Sees Candy, Gift Card baskets and we will be selling Discount cards. We also need Gift cards for Gift baskets. We encourage you to buy the gift cards through the PTSA scripps program. We will be raffling off the baskets at several events this year.
We have a field trip scheduled to go to Great America on April 20-21, 2018 for Music in the Park. At Music in the park our MCAA/MHS Choir, Strings and Band compete with other schools. We are proud to show our students natural talents and what they have learned here at MCAA. They also get positive feedback to help them improve their skills. Our expenses include teachers, transportation, insurance, park entrance and an overnight stay at a hotel.
The estimated per person cost for this trip at this time is $300 for students and chaperones. This cost could increase or decrease depending on discounts. To get the best prices we need to know how many students and chaperones we can expect for this trip. We will be offering a payment plan. Meeting Tuesday November 7, 2017:
For those of you that missed last night's meeting, we are trying to get a total amount attending the Great America trip in April. If your student is planning on attending, please fill out the contract for the trip so we can figure out the cost per student. Please turn in completed contracts to either Ms. Brown or Mr. Harmon.
Also, we are collecting gift cards to do a opportunity drawing basket for music week. If you are able to donate gift cards that would be awesome. If you are ordering the gift cards through the PTSA scrip program, they need to be ordered by Nov 15th.
